Do you realize that the King of the Universe, our mighty God, has given believers an invitation to come boldly to God’s throne? He has given us reserved seating to eat and drink at the table with His very own son? (Luke 22:29-30). God is serving unlimited portions of grace and mercy. Still, many of us are feasting at “Hell’s Kitchen” day after day. We are stuffing ourselves on the leftovers that the devil is slinging our way: slices of sorrow, drenched with dread, followed by gallons of guilt. That’s just for starters. Satan’s kitchen has been condemned? Are you knocking on his door, demanding that the place be opened to serve you? Remember the story about King David, who desired to show
kindness to any relative of one of former his rivals? There was one man,
Mephibosheth, who fit the bill. Mephibosheth was given a personal invitation
to live at the palace and eat at the king’s table. You would think
Mephibosheth would have been jumping up and down, despite being crippled.
Instead, he called himself a “dead dog” and wondered if the
king had lost his mind. Finally, Mephibosheth accepted the invitation
to eat with the king as if he were one of his own sons. (II
Samuel 9) Do you have a “dead dog” mentality? Or, how
about “Billy Goat Faith”? One that’s characterized by
lots of “but’s?” Step right up, Bold Believer™, come boldly before the throne. (Hebrews 4:16). There, we will find great portions of mercy served fresh every day (1 Chronicles 21:13, Lamentations 3:23). Child, there is an invitation with your name on it! Be bold and accept it with all the riches that are yours! My work-in-progress (WIP), Becoming a Bodacious Believer reflects my faith and God’s awesome promises. Stay tuned as I seek a publisher to bring you this word.
